Ness started the brighter of the two sides and created their first opportunity after ten minutes when Edward Oldbury’s cross from the left found Harry Thomson but his effort went wide of the target. Celtic were next to threaten when Tom Moncrieff broke down the left and found Kennedy Moar in space at the edge of the box he turned and struck towards goal but his effort went over the crossbar.
Ness took the lead with 15 minutes on the clock when after good play down the right Dylan Leishman’s cross found Keiran Jamieson who had timed his run into the box to perfection and he managed to get to the ball before the keeper and lift the ball over him and into the corner of the net.
Ness made it two ten minutes later when after a good cross-field pass from Declan Adamson, Dan Forsyth’s dangerous cross from the right found Harry Thomson who placed the ball home from close range.
Into the second half and Ness went looking for a third and almost got it after Stuart Farmer burst through a couple of challenges at the edge of the box and tried to round the keeper but Taylor Lynch in the Celtic goal got a hand to the ball and it fell to the edge of the box for Ian Bray who’s sharp turn and shot went wide of the target.
Celtic pulled a goal back on the hour mark when after Ness squandered possession in midfield Celtic broke forward through Shay Regan who found Shane Odie at the edge of the area and he curled in a lovely right footed shot into the left hand corner of the net.
Ten minutes later Ness got their third a decisive goal when Keiran Jamieson’s in swinging corner was met by Edward Oldbury who powered his header into the top corner to make it 3-1.
Ness almost made it four minutes later when Harry Thomson broke from midfield beating three players and finding himself one on one with the keeper but Taylor Lynch pulled off a fine save and tipped the ball wide of the target.
With ten minutes remaining Ness got their fourth goal of the night with a fine individual goal. Edward Oldbury collected the ball in his own half and went on a rampaging run forward beating two players at the half way line before bursting forward, it appeared he had overrun the ball but showing great determination he managed to outmuscle the first defender and dispossess a second before keeping his composure and calmly sliding the ball home. Best on the night for Ness were man of the match Edward Oldbury and Nethan Watson while for Celtic youngsters Shay Regan and Kennedy Moar both performed well.
